We were all shocked by the news on Black Friday—a woman in California resorts to attacking fellow shoppers with pepper spray to “gain a competitive advantage” in grabbing some door-buster deal. While a bit obsessive about holiday savings, even the “Target lady” wouldn’t stoop to such a nefarious game plan. But then again, she doesn’t need pepper spray. Her thigh exercises have increased her stamina and doubtless that stylish red track suit reduces wind resistance as she buzzes up and down isles, grabbing the best deals at Target. 

The Rock of Ages Visitors Center is an attraction and a retailer. Sure, we have the requisite gift shop and an online store. We sincerely hope you’ll spend some money with us this holiday season. Those purchases provide good jobs for Vermonters. And like small-to-medium businesses across America, Rock of Ages generously gives money to support local education, local sports, and numerous local charities. BUT…here at Rock of Ages we recognize that quality of life is not wrapped up in material possessions. We all need a certain amount of money to house, clothe and feed ourselves and our families. But most of us in this country are extremely blessed with an abundance of material goods. 

We all know that the warm of friends and family relationships are far more important than having the latest gizmo and grabbing the best door-buster deals.
