A trip to Rock of Ages complements many areas of study, including basic geology, natural resources, immigration, labor history, regional cultural heritage and art. We look forward to educating and entertaining your students as we share our industry with them.
We offer a step-on service. Our guide steps aboard your school bus and proceeds to our spectacular 50-acre granite quarry which is nearly 600 feet deep. The cost is just $2.00 per student and $2.50 per adult chaperone. Teachers, aids and the bus driver are admitted for free.
Those schools without access to a bus may take advantage of our caravan tour service. You will follow one of our guides to the quarry in your own vehicles wagon-train style.
The cost is the same, except that chaperones serving as drivers are admitted free of charge.
School groups may also wish to stop at the Visitors Center for a video presentation (please request our 3-2-1 Contact video presentation for younger viewers) and to explore the computer kiosks and historic exhibits. You may then wish to visit our factory for a self-guided observation of our artisans at work. Admission to both buildings is free. Allow a minimum of 2 hours for your visit.
COME HAVE A BLAST: Our Cut-In-Stone Sandblast Activity is a fun, informative experience. We invite your students to step up to the booth, grasp the gun and feel the pulsing throb of air and abrasive leap from the nozzle! Each student safely and successfully learns to sandblast one of several predetermined designs onto a piece of granite, leaving with a great memory and a stone gift made by their very own hands.
The cost of $10.50 per student includes guided quarry tour and sandblast activity. Chaperones pay just $11.00 each.
CHAPERONE POLICY: We have no set chaperone policy. You know your class far better than we do. We ask that you choose a sufficient number of chaperones to provide a safe and orderly class visit.
BILLING: We accept upon your arrival and registration cash, checks or money orders. With advanced notice, we will also agree to bill your school when you provide an official purchase order. Please note that any request for an invoice must be made in advance. We cannot provide an invoice upon demand when a teacher arrives. Please make arrangements in advance for an invoice to be mailed or faxed to your school if you wish to pay by purchase order and require an invoice as proof of attendance at our attraction. We very much appreciate your cooperation in this matter. Please feel free to contact us with any questions regarding your field trip or payment requirements:
