Granite and the other granite stones we use to manufacture are unique materials with physical properties well suited for precision industrial applications. They are thermally stable, which means they change slowly and in small increments dimensionally with changes in temperature, as compared to other materials, particularly metals. They are hard, giving them excellent resistance to wear. These materials are inert, so they do not require coatings (paint, plating, anodizing, etc.) for protection unlike most metals. The combination of these and other physical properties allow these stone materials to be manufactured to very small critical geometric tolerances. Granite also provides superior vibration absorption.

We currently offer the five most proven stone materials for precision granite products - Impala (South Africa), Zimbabwe (Zimbabwe), *American Black (Pennsylvania), *Barre Gray (Vermont), and *Salisbury Pink (North Carolina). Physical properties relevant to precision use vary significantly between these materials. Many physical properties need to be considered in determining the appropriate materials for each application.
