Moore
When one of our own experiences a death in their family we realize the importance of a good design to tell the story of that loved one. This is what happened to David Moore of Milwaukee Rock of Ages Memorials, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
David’s wife, Margaret, who he lovingly called “Ging”, died after a long illness. David wanted a suitable memorial tribute and had some ideas of his own but felt he needed to enlist the services of a few people in the industry to help put together his ideas for the monument. Having sold Sealmark Rock of Ages memorials for several years, there was no question in David’s mind what he wanted for the material. Crimson Red was his choice, and now he was pleased to be able to have it made in our Signature quality - only the best for David.
David knew he liked the basic style of a Rock of Ages Design, Number 5600 “Barley”. It had caught his eye several times while looking through designs to help his customers. He also wanted the “thistle” to show his heritage. However, he wasn’t too sure just how to present the thistle in a relief carving and have all his ideas come together.
David called upon three people he knew from his membership in the American Institute of Commemorative Art. Charlie Hunt, Jr.; Jim Peterson and Roy Keith, Jr. all took David’s ideas and gave him design suggestions. From these ideas, David combined these suggestions to have his monument produced at our Craftsman Center in Barre, Vermont. |
